art & craft workshops
About
Gemma is passionate about bringing people together in beautiful & inspiring places and seeing their creativity unfold. With craft & fine art skills - originally training as a fine artist - Gemma loves using a diversity of techniques in her making & workshops. Her ideas are inspired by the environments in which her workshops take place, their collections and the history & stories of them.
Gemma began her work as an arts educator in Museum & Gallery Learning in London - working with the National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of the Home, the Barbican, the Garden Museum, Kenwood House & the William Morris Gallery, amongst other high profile & national organisations -where she was based before moving back to Kent, where she’s originally from. Gemma gained a wealth of experience working with people of all ages & abilities.
Gemma now lives on the Kent & Sussex border with her partner & young son (also a keen crafter!) and is part of an artist collective working in outdoor spaces. A nature-lover, seeking out green spaces to work in where possible, Gemma loves connecting with local people through her workshops - providing positive, creative wellbeing experiences, where makers will take something special they’ve made home.
“ I can highly recommend any time spent with Gemma . She is teaching my daughter art at the moment and her friendly and relaxed manner is a welcome tonic to the usual hectic pace of life.”
